ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
The Grant Union High School Athletic Department is committed to a tradition of excellence through competition where we teach and model the skills of resilience, tolerance, and good citizenship.
The athletic program at Grant Union High School has a long standing legacy of greatness. The historic CIF Champion Football Team (the first in Northern California) has set the bar for the rest of a quickly growing and improving athletic program. Our men's and women's Basketball Programs have consistently demonstrated greatness with championships. With new teams in swimming, wrestling, boys' volleyball, tennis, and ESports, the Grant Pacers are charting a course toward excellence on every playing field, court, mat, screen and pool!
The ladies' soccer, basketball, and softball teams are excelling in ways that show a resurgence in our female athletes, and the boys' soccer and baseball teams, under new coaching staffs, are making enormous strides.

Ensuring Safety at our Sporting Events
All fans who attend high school athletic/special events in Twin Rivers Unified School District will be required to enter our venues through a weapons detection system, effective Friday, Aug. 18, 2023. Bags and attendees may be subject to a secondary screening if the system indicates a need for one. This new procedure is designed to enhance the safety and security for all attendees at each venue. Weapons of any kind, alcohol/illicit contraband, and smoking or the use of tobacco products are prohibited on all district properties.
Other safety protocols include:
- No backpacks
- Students 14 and younger who do not attend our district schools must be accompanied by an adult at all times
- All students must have a student identification card
- If individuals leave the venue/event, they will not be able to return (no re-entry)
- Attendees engaging in disruptive behavior may be escorted from the venue/school grounds, and could be banned from all future sporting/special events on our campuses
It is essential to maintain safe and secure learning and competition environments for all students, staff, families and community members. We encourage all attendees to plan ahead by arriving early and following all protocols. Failure to follow protocols may result in denial/removal from the event.
